How to install stickers on WhatsApp and Telegram

Step by step on Android, iPhone and Telegram, plus fixes for the three most common failures.

A sticker pack isn't downloaded like a photo: it gets registered inside the messaging app. The steps differ per platform, so here is each case on its own.

Android (WhatsApp)

  1. Open the pack page and tap Add to WhatsApp.
  2. Android asks which app should open the file. Pick WhatsApp.
  3. WhatsApp shows a preview of the pack with a confirm button. Accept it and you're done.
  4. In any chat, tap the emoji button, then the sticker icon: the new pack sits at the end of the list.

If the pack doesn't show up, close WhatsApp completely (from recent apps) and open it again. The pack list is read at startup.

iPhone and iPad (WhatsApp)

iOS doesn't let a website register stickers in WhatsApp directly. Two options:

  • Save each sticker: long-press an image from the pack, save it to Photos and send it as an image. It won't join your sticker list, but it works in any chat.
  • Use Telegram: on iOS, Telegram packs are added with no friction. That's the recommended route if you want them stored.

Telegram (Android and iOS)

  1. Tap Add to Telegram. The app opens on the pack view.
  2. Press Add stickers at the bottom.
  3. You'll find them in the sticker panel, next to the ones you already had.

Not every pack exists on Telegram. When it doesn't, the button shows as disabled on the pack page.

Three common failures

"This pack could not be added"

Nearly always the WhatsApp version. Update from your app store and try again.

Stickers show up blank

The pack registered, but the images didn't finish downloading. Get on a stable network and reopen the sticker panel.

It was added twice

Long-press the duplicate in WhatsApp's sticker list and choose remove. The original stays.

How much space it takes

A 30-sticker WebP pack weighs 1 to 3 MB. Animated ones are heavier, up to about 8 MB. If you need space, remove packs you don't use from that same sticker list: you can add them back whenever you want.
